On Lasting Friendships

My favorite part of the day came from 2 people I met just this year. When you find someone who understands even just one part of your life SO well, that they will go out of their way for your sake, you've most definitely got a friend.

I finally found the time to go to a FOOSH comedy improv show, but was really torn b/c I wanted to watch Game 3 of the Lakers playoff series vs. Thunder. So here's a timeline of texts I received during the show:

Matt (8:54pm): Oh man lakers are down by 4 with 8 minutes left in the game :/ i'll keep you updated
Matt (9:00pm): Down by 6 now :( kobe is struggling in the fourth with durant guarding him.
Matt (9:05pm): Lakers went really cold for a while but just hit a couple. Still down by 6 though.
Matt (9:08pm): Odom hits a 3! 3 point game
Katie (9:09pm): La dwn by 6 ...1:48 left
Matt (9:11pm): 2 point game! Sorry if i'm driving you crazy Haha
Katie (9:11pm): Dwn by 2 a min left
Matt (9:15pm): 13 seconds 2 point game!!! Aaaaahh!!
Matt (9:19pm): I wish i had better news, but Lakers lose :(
Katie (9:21pm): Sry but they lost by 5 or 6

I can only imagine how much time Matt spent typing those out minutes apart especially without a keyboard on his phone and Katie had a midterm to study for. It's not like I was in some really important meeting or something, I was at a FOOSH show! There was no good reason for them to send me updates but they did it anyway. It's these tiny little gestures that let me know how much some people understand me in strange ways, like my obsession for the Lakers. So my Lakers lost, but my friends came through. I couldn't stop smiling
